Fishing 101

This course is for the beginning angler at Huron Meadows Metropark. The instruction is at Maltby Lake and includes the fundamentals of rod and reel handling, casting, knot tying, tackle, bait, clothing and types of game fish in Michigan. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing pole. Poles will be provided for those who don't have one. This class is open for kids age 8 and up. Live bait will be provided. A $5.00 (daily) park entrance fee ($25 annual) is required. A minimum of 10 participants is required.
