Kayaking and Canoeing

Get out on the water! Discover the beauty of southeastern Michigan by canoe or kayak this season. SELCRA now offers a variety of canoe/kayak courses and trips courtesy of Heavner Canoe and Kayak.

Paddlers of all ages will enjoy their time on the water learning and exploring the local waterways. For those just getting their feet wet, sign up for a beginners course and learn the basic kayaking skills including the forward and reverse strokes and properly entering and exiting the watercraft. While this course is primarily for the beginner, anyone who has never had formal instruction will benefit.

Thinking about getting the whole family involved? Join Heavners on one of their many canoe/kayak trips! Paddlers will travel by canoe through Proud Lake's wilderness to a hidden waterfall, or enjoy a downstream paddle to Milford Central Park. Be prepared to have fun and get wet!
