SELCRA offers youth basketball leagues and clinics for both boys and girls in 1st thru 8th grades.  All leagues traditionally practice and play at Scranton Middle School and Maltby Intermediate School. 

 

BASKETBALL LEAGUES

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The SELCRA Girls Basketball league is currently running through the end of January.  Click on the game schedules below and head out to Maltby or Scranton and check out all the action!

BOYS BASKETBALL

1st-2nd Grade - 1/28-3/17 Deadline to Register: Friday Jan 13th

Develop your basketball skills and have some FUN with our boys 1st/2nd grade basketball league! The emphasis of this league is to introduce your youngster to the teamwork aspect of basketball and develop fundamentals of the game with a one hour practice before the game! Then apply these skills in a half-hour game like scrimmage monitored by a court supervisor on Saturdays for 6 weeks. Practices: Will take place on Saturdays prior to games Games: Teams will play 6 games, all on Saturdays. Scores and standings are not kept and trophies are not distributed for these leagues.

3rd/4th-5th/6th Grade - 1/23-3/17 Deadline to Register : Friday Jan 13th

Hoop it up with our boys 3rd/4th or 5th/6th grade basketball leagues! The emphasis of this league is learning the fundamentals of the game through a one hour practice during weeknight evenings the practice time and day will be chosen by the coach. Players will also continue to develop during a game-like setting that will take place on Saturdays. Practices: Scheduled to begin the week of January 23 Games: Teams will play 6 games, all on Saturdays. Scores and standings are not kept and trophies are not distributed for these leagues. Games will begin Feb. 4th thru March 17th.

7th/8th Grade Session 2 - 1/30-3/24  Deadline to Register : Monday Jan 23rd

Stay in the game with our Boys 7th/8th grade boys basketball league! Teams will practice one hour a week, the practice time and day will be chosen by the volunteer coach. 8 games will be played, 6 on Saturdays and 2 weeknight games. Practices begin the week of Jan. 30. Games begin Sat. Feb. 11 and end Sat. Mar. 24

Deadline to Register: Friday March 2nd

Get your future basketball player into the game boys and girls are welcome! Baskets are lowered and balls are downsized to enable your child to develop basic skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Class instructed by longtime BHS Coach Dan Christner and players from the BHS program.  Saturdays, March 3, 10,17.
